Has anyone played Super Mario 3D World yet?
I personally think it's a great game and showcases what the WiiU is really capable of.
And now, here's the (I think) first post on this forum showcasing a song from this game.
The music is pretty gorgeous as well with pieces like "Double Cherry Pass" or the opening level, "Super Bell Hill".
But there's one track that really sticks out - the map theme of World Bowser. Not because it's bad - oh no, no NO! - but because it's such an evil-jazzy theme. Something like that wasn't heard in a Mario game as far as I know.
Thankfully, someone wrote a [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rxikuCuISs]MIDI off this song and here it is - my Famitracker NES cover
This song also gave me the Idea for my requested effect Uxy (inserting values into macros) because there are just so many arpeggios I had to use to fit everything in while keeping my consitency about the channel usage.
I'd love to hear some feedback
Thanks for your attention and have a good day
- Alex

Ehm ... I entered a bunch of notes and values into the Famitracker program?
Maybe ask the question in a more specific way.
Generally, I cover my songs like this:
1) I get myself a MIDI (music file) of the song I'm attempting to cover and open it with "Midi Sheet Music" so I can see the notes.
2) I analyze every single track (Lead, Bass, Percussion, ...) and look up how this track sounds in the original
3) I sythezize the instruments into 8 Bit
4) I transcribe the notes from the MIDI into Famitracker. This is the largest part of the process since I have to be very careful which track gets to be which channel since all channels have different functions, specifications, sounds and abilities.
5) At last, I add effects like vibrato or tremolo and rework the final volume balancing.
Hope I could help you

Listen. Please don't advertise your own threads on other's pages if they're not related at all.
If your track is good or needs work, people will go there and look at it. You don't need to "inform" everyone you've made a thread. They've most likely already seen it.
There's even a rule for that - "Do your best to stay on topic"

Why can't I come up with a creative signature?
Tracking must've stripped me clean of creative ideas.

I have a question. Did you find any other MIDIs for this soundtrack? I was once looking for an Overworld MIDI but I couldn't find anything.

@Zaalan3 Yeah, the arps came out pretty nice, but I really wish I didn't have to define evry bloody single one through it's own instrument *cough*Uxy*cough*
@Roflo I wish I could do anything. But since the borderline useless triangle channel has no volume control (neither does it have any other damn controls ...) and I can't use DPCM to cut it's volume by force since it's always used for the drums, the only option left is to make everying louder. But the volume balance is really unflexible. Due to the VRC6-V00 saxophone that only plays very, VERY soft and is easily drowned out by bloody everything else, I can't touch any of the other volumes.
Any idea how to soften the tri toms?
@Dr_Mustache I have found a few Notesheets somewhere on the inzerwebz, but I can't remember right now. I remember I was scared away by the title theme because it had ... *shudder* triplets

Triplets aren't hard to achieve, use the Gxx effect for that. You can find examples in the wiki.
