A few Pokemon covers from Red and Blue. Contributions are welcome, but only if they meet the following criteria:
- Use only one (1) blank instrument.
- Focuses on accuracy. However, I am willing to accept changes in arrangement if it's just some idiotic mistake (see the Final Four theme for an example). Also, remixes are fine as long as they're done in the original's instrumentation style.
- Uses integral tempo to 64 Hz. I chose 64 hz because I read something about the Game Boy's soundchip being clocked to 64 hz? Someone correct me if this is totally wrong.
Why is it named pokebeta? I started this as a hypothetical scenario, "What if there was a cancelled NES port of Pokemon?"
I think I'll keep working with my N163 covers
Oh, right. I actually really liked that, but my opinion? It had none of the tracks I found most memorable and had all the tracks I found meh. But each to their own, I suppose.
Uhm, yeah, I'm pretty sure it's 64 Hz like you said, however, if you want to stick with NES limitations, why are you not using 60Hz (or 50Hz)?
First off, because the instruments will sound a bit off. Second, because it's not really an NES limitation, but rather a convention that nobody ever found a good reason to change.
Oh, and if you really care about accuracy, you probably should start creating a lot of vibrato instruments and a few noise instruments as well.
Vibrato? I should probably give Slimeball's decompiler a try =D
sparkyrogers, your stuff is great, go ahead!
I don't think there are any noise instruments actually. I think you already know this, but just to make it clear why I want only a blank, the Game Boy uses hardware volume envelopes, not bit-by-bit volume changes as in Famitracker. The closest thing to hardware volume envelopes is, well, software volume envelopes. That's why I have no need for instruments, as far as I know.

I really didn't intend for this to be an actual collab, but I felt at the same time that if someone wanted to add to it, then it would be selfish for me to deny them that right.
I've been travelling, but once I settle I'll add moar songs.

for sparky's version of the title music: should it be using 75 % square waves. the original games only used that type of square, except in root1 which had a 50% doing the melody. 25% waves were, as far as I'm aware, never used.

Wow... I didn't know that... Thanks!

I never knew that v01 and v03 produced different sound waves; they always sounded the same to me. But I can't argue with the research, I guess... =J

They don't produce different sounds, but kingcandy is right. I imported it myself and it's showing all V03's and V02's...

thanks for the fixed version of the title music, sounds more acurat.
It's a shame you are forcing us to use only one instrument because the effects collumn is unusable with any screen reader. If this were to be raised, I would do all the jingles and the alternate opening from yellow.
