Hey guys. I just ordered one of those fancy NES PowerPak things, should be pretty cool when it gets here. Anyway, I am offering to playback/record anyone's nsf files on my nes, so you can hear how it sounds on the real thing. No offense to emulators, I just don't thing they sound exactly accurate

So yeah, just respond to this thread with your nsfs or ftms, and give me an email address where I can send the mp3 (or wav, or flac, or ogg whatever you want.)

EDIT: Actually it might be better to go ahead and save it as a nes file.

EDIT2: I also got some post processing software, so you can tell me if you want reverb, or normalization, or noise reduction (from the cable/sound output, not the noise channel)

EDIT3: If you don't wanna give your email, I guess I could put it up on megaupload or something.

This sounds great! Of course I want to hear what it would sound like on the NES! I have a song you could try it with... it has vrc6 channels but I hope it still works. If you get a good mp3 out of it, send it to: fjant_felix@hotmail.com

Thanks!

OK guys, sorry for the huge delay/wait. My old NES bit the dust, so I had to order a new one off ebay...

But now its here, and I'm good to go.

Ignore the old song I put up here... try this one instead. Put it up on some file sharing site if possible when you're done...

Thanks in advance!

It should, considering that there are updates to the PowerPack's firmware available. Just make sure you update to the latest firmware revision.

By the way, the expansions are known as mappers.

To Aeon: If you want, here's a few of my FamiTracker project files (even though I'm not including any license file, I'm releasing them as open source under the GNU GPL, same as FamiTracker itself).

The FamiTracker project files were created in FamiTracker 0.3.0. I don't really care what you do with any MP3's or whatever, so you can enjoy them or post them on the net for anyone to listen to.

You have to solder a resistor in if you want expansion audio on your powerpak.

I did not know that. Can you tell me which resistor value & solder point you need for the PCB?

This is all from the powerpak bundle.

"To hear expansion audio, put a 47k resistor between pins 3 and 9 of the NES expansion connector."

That's very odd that all you have to do to hear expansion packs is install a resistor. Is there a technical reason why that is?
