I recently played trough Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga (GBA) on my WiiU VC and I've got to say - while I prefer Bowser's Inside Story (and also Partners in Time), the first part of the M&L-series still holds up remarkably well. The Graphics are classic, the humor is wacky and fun, the controls are - for the most part - fluent (although I hate the special Advanced-Bro-Attacks or whatever they're called ._.).
The music - while it had not all that many memorable tracks - was really well done for GBA ... and you all know what a flimsy sound chip that thing had. Who's idea was it to software-mix samples into ONE 8-bit DAC?!?!
Back to topic, some of the tracks I enjoyed most are the battle theme (da-da dada da-dadaaaa ...), crackletta's final theme and - my god - the Popple Battle.
This theme is awesome, see?
Popple is an aweseome character with an awesome theme, so what else to do than cover it? ^_^
I think it turned out pretty well - especially the clap - but I'm not 100% happy with the triangle. I can't decide wether to have it on the same octave as the lead or one lower. I'll just upload both versions and look who's ears bleed more n_n"
I'd like to hear some feedback.
Thanks for your attention ans have a nice day
- Alex
