I ride the sea. I follow the message of the postman. I reach Dragon Roost Island.
Eargasm.

Seriously, Wind Waker has some amazing tracks, but Dragon Roost Island is just really outstanding on it's own. I first stayed on this island over half an hour doing nothing but listening to this tune ... and blowing myself up with those bomb-plants ....

Tracking those guitar-chords and triple-tones was such a PAIN :X

I made the N163 waves for guitar and bass myself, the drum Samples are (again) by my friend Daniel. Feel free to use

I'd appreciate a little feedback.
Thank you for your attention and have a good day
- Alex

Mm, this song is awesome (though the whole OST rocks, really). Tried doing this one myself early on with VRC6, and it was pretty dicey; making the guitar strumming and bass part sound "natural" is quite tough.

I will say that the DPCM drum thumping throughout is... well, a strange choice (the original doesn't have drums, IIRC, just castanets+clap). From a practical standpoint it ends up making the sweet bass riffs harder to hear because it's so heavy, and from a aesthetic standpoint I personally don't think it goes with the whole Andean/Flamenco-ish whatever-the-heck feel of the piece.
Other than that, some erroneous notes and rhythms here and there; pretty trivial fixes.

Good to see an enthusiastic newcomer!

Hm, looks like you're right about the drum. For some reason, I remembered there to be some deep tone at the beginning which I thought was some kind of drum, but carefully listening to it again ... no, there isn't.

I'm going to change around samples, hopefully I can find some clean clap-samples somewhere.

About the errornous notes: I covered it off the notesheet given above and I switched up positions more than once, so there might very well be mistakes. I'll try and find them if possible.

Thanks for the tip!

All right, I settled for a subtle TechmoBowl-sample.
Hope it fits better ^^

That sounds a lot better. I'd say make the "flutes" an octave higher to be more accurate, but that might get grating.

Oh, and at the melody starting in 0C, I'd add an echo.

Yeah, the flute definitely deserves to be an octave higher -- but then it does start to sound less like an actual flute and more like a ... square wave....

Best part is definitely the echoing effects you have going on in patterns 0C-0F.

Forgot to end the P81 effect you put in there! But yeah, does sound better.
