HOLY CRAP you listened to it for that long!? I don't even think I have! That's INSANE! :O
Not mad at all, that's amazing! :D
To be honest I think people are just gonna stick with MM2 Wily 1 as best evar (which I personally don't agree with) but I am very happy you (and Skywolf ;D) like/adore it. That means a lot.

Also, I love that drawing of Dr. Wily the DJ. I'd like to mention that at a 5000x6952 resolution, it took a whole minute to load on my notebook (and no, I don't have anything better). It kind of loaded like a Dial-up modem, one line at a time.

Anyways, to celebrate, here's a mashup of the two Snake Man covers I made! :D (Quality was lowered to fit onto the forum )

Yep. After posting, I left it on play for another half an hour. And I've just started playback right after my PC was turned on. This song is just that. damn. good.

Whoops, forgot to scale it down and accidentially postet the 600 DPI scan ... well, better download the pic manually first and then look at it through Windows Picture Preview (or whatever ^^)

Holy crap, that sounds EXACTLY like something out of a late 80's arcade machine o.O
I'm not even mad, that's amazing!

About the way of this project: Now, the time has come to polish and round up all of the tracks. Good luck and I hope you, everyone else helping out and at the very last me can do this once and for all!

I tweaked the drums of Wily 1&2 a little
(and re-timed two releases ^^)

I made Wily 1-2 a bit more repetitive. Before you call me out on this one - Megaman 2's Wily 1 is catchy partially because of how it's repetitive while staying fresh (along with its clear lead and its simplicity). I've done my best to make my edits as small as possible - only remove parts that didn't really need to be there.

also, is it me, or is something missing from Pulse 2 on Frame 02?

Am I the only one around here who thinks the earlier verison was better?

Well, I didn't crosshear them, but I really like every second of it and taking something out always hurts :-/
I'll closely compare them tomorrow, I'm just too tired now.

But well, if it benefits the memorybility, go ahead. I just wanna say that this thune already got stuck in my head. I'm going to have to remove it with a fucking spoon now. Thanks -^.^-

Welp, you're probably going to hate me for this, then.

Wily 1&2 edits, primarily percussion, and some smallish changes to Wizard Man.

Not really too keen on any of these edits to be honest. The changes in Wizard Man's stage stick out like that one really irritating spot on your forehead and the Wily edits kinda reversed my edits and in some parts made it feel really ichy (Frame 2 pls) - it kinda felt like you just kinda edited it just for the sake of editing it (especially the drums, as I didn't actually notice the drum edits apart from the lack of said drums during the first section). There really wasn't that much wrong with the original, and it didn't need fixing.

Welp, let's listen to the new Wizard Man ... *listening* huh, now where's the cha-- *Frame 04* ## A-2 Q22 ## HOLY WHAT THE MOTHER OF GOD JESUS FRIGGIN CHRIST IN THE NAME OF WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ?!?!?!
Seriously, WHAT? That ONE note hit me like a speeding bus! It just fits so bad! There's no other way of expressing this, just please change it back!
This would be a perfectly fine track if it wasn't for THAT ONE NOTE

Wily 1&2: Well, I notice some change, I just can't really nail down what exactly was tweaked.
I still prefer the very first minorly tweaked version - except for that G#3 filler note in Frame 02. I like that one

Oh, and I've also just seen that my percussion changes (and use of A01) were implemented Thanks!

EDIT: Oh, LL posted while I was writing. You're right, don't fix what isn't broken except you're offering a huge improvement

Actually, I posted before SkyWolf. :P

Anyway, why did these edits get so much backlash? They're not all bad. They just need some tweaking, that's all.

I personally still think it's rather poor. The use of the 4xy command as duct tape worked on Toxic Man's stage, because the chord was just about off, but it really doesn't work in Wizard Man's stage, as IMO it actually sounds a bit worse than before.

From what I can see, I don't think Wily 1-2 has been changed. I'm really not keen on the changes that were made to frame 02, as it now sounds like it has something missing again, and the transition between the two G#3's just doesn't fit well.

Whoa. Well, first of all, thanks for this feedback, guys.

With the percussion, I was trying to make it better match the overall rhythm of the song. Similar reasoning for the slight edit to the melody in frame 2 - I felt like the [release] - G# - A# in there, rather than the G# - F - A#, better matched the overall rhythm of the melody. The majority of the edits I made on that tune were rhythm-focused (e.g. minor) - I should have made that more clear in my post.

Question - was it the sluggish Q22 fade up to B that was so off-putting about this, or the pulse layering? Or both? Because the note itself in the end is the same as before - B. Well, I like what littlelamp did with the latest edit, so I'll just leave it like that for now...

Noted, thanks.

Make it a B and call it a day, this point never was in need for a slide. ^^

Well, looks like we reached the stage of fine-tuning everything. Shall I start recording and editing the videos for youtube, LL?
(at least the tracks that are definetly finished: Title Screen, Level Select, Fanfares, Toxic Man, Groove Man, Inferno Man, Robot Master Battle, Victory theme, Powerup, Password, Game Over, Wily's up to no good (*duh* ^^), Wily Start, Wily Boss, Tension Rising, FINAL BOSS (Aw yeah!!), Wily Defeated, World is at Peace, Staff Roll and R-R-Rematch)

Go ahead, Alexander283!
Here are some more slight ajustments. This might sound a little better.

The percussion did sound slightly off in Wily 1 & 2. The triplets in Pattern 06 don't fit at all IMO. Also, I think what was missing in Pattern 01 was a Hi Hat.
Overall, though, these edits are pretty good.

Cool. You may have missed the space in noise pattern 8, though. Also, there's a duplicate of frame 14 at the end of the song.

I think Rubber Man can be considered finished, unless there are things that you think can be further improved about it.
