I can't figure out how to change the placement of the yellow bars that defaults to rows 04, 08, 0C, etc. It's great for tracking in 4/4, no doubt. But it would make composing in non 4/4 time signatures a lot easier if I could edit it. I've seen in some other people's files that it can be done... I just can't figure out how. Can anyone provide any direction for this?

Change the row highlight settings for your module, located at the top right of the FT window (screenshot is attached for clarity). The '1st' field changes the position of the bars you're talking about, while the '2nd' field changes the position of the darker bars (by default located at 00, 10, 20, etc).

EDIT: whoops, mixed them up.

Thanks for the tip on that. It was exactly what I was looking for... turns out my window was just too narrow to see that.
