So I've been attempting to make some original compositions for a while, some have turned out better than others but here is one I'm actually pretty happy with. Just a generic level theme you might find in a castle or some location that would fit a more faster paced theme.

Though I'm always a fan of improving upon my work and I'm sure there are some issues lying around in the ftm, so if you have any critiques please share so I can improve!

Pretty groovy. I like it. Not particularly amazing, but I do like it. Still, I could imagine it a bit irritating as a stage level theme, especially if it is a particularly difficult or annoying stage. Maybe add some more harmony in there, because the entire song is pretty much constant... dissonance, I want to say? Actually, it's more that there is no real rest to it, and I think rest is really important to a good composition. Your first 4 frames are your rest, but even then they're still pretty intense.

Overall, interesting song, just add not only variation, but also allow your listener to rest a bit. Hope this helps!

here's what i've got so far. haven't done much yet with the noise, and there's still much yet for the triangle.

Oh hi.
The variations are neato I guess, but I feel like it kinda misses the main feel of the original. Not to say they were bad, cause they weren't, they were way more impressive than mine, it just kind of misses what I was going for feel wise.

That said, I've made some very minor changes, nothing new frame wise but just some effects here and there.

i'm not really a fan of "classic NES sounds", but the composition sure is interesting.

what kind of feeling were you trying to evoke?

i would suggest moving the triangle in frames 4 and 5 down one octave so it provides a bassy sound.

Hey guys I'm making a game and would love permission to use A Nameless Level Theme on one of the levels. Actually the post I'm replying to is a very chill version that I would like to use... but I also like the other versions and would like to use them on different but similar levels... not sure who made what but would appreciate it. I know a lot of people out there grab FTM files and make little changes and rip it without asking but I'm not down with that. So let me know
