I have a estrange problems with the ADPCM channel with Famitracker since some years, I attached a file with 3 objects:
Famitracker output.wav -> how it sounds on Famitracker
VirtuaNes output.wav -> how it sounds on VirtuaNes (As well another nsf players)
Output.nsf -> the example
If you compare these 2 wav, on the VirtuaNes o. you can hear an high frequency sound, I put a note stop every note because the sound is continous if you don´t stop the sound. Some ideas? this occurs also in other nsf players, but doesn´t in Famitracker.
You mean DPCM, not ADPCM. (DPCM is more primitive than ADPCM.) FamiTracker doesn't support ADPCM channels. I think there is an expansion chip with ADPCM, but if so, FamiTracker doesn't support it.
To answer your question, I don't think the problem is with FamiTracker. It sounds like the noise is part of the sample itself, and VirtuaNES and your other NSF players just aren't filtering out the noise.
If you import your samples into FamiTracker at a lower volume, you will probably have fewer problems with this.
for the record, foo_gep in foobar2000 plays it somewhere between the two. the high frequency is higher and not particularly audible.
i think i have had this problem in the past myself, and since i'm so crap with DPCM i never found a sure-fire solution besides just playing around with different samples and volumes (both before and after importing into fami.)
Thanks to all for your responses, but the problem is yet here. I tried to import wav samples putting the volume level at 8, 4 or 2 but the problem persists.

The base samples doesn´t got the estrange high frequency sound. Also, I tried to decrease the volume to the base samples but same here.
