this is a cover of johny Mandel's "suicide is painless" (better known as the theme to the movy and tv series, "M.a.s.h"
For memorial day this is a tribute to all the medics on the battlefield.
also as a bonus, I attached an unfinished version of the character select music from Dokey Dokey Pannic (OR the north ammerican version of super Mario bros. 2), using one of djmaximum's drumkits.
I think more people might look at this thread if it mentioned the MASH theme in the thread title. I only clicked it because I happened to know the name of the song.
Frankly, it doesn't sound much like Suicide is Painless at all. It's too bright and happy, whereas I find the tone of the original song somewhat ambiguous. I also didn't even recognize it until the second half.
BTW, it's "Doki Doki Panic", not "Dokey Dokey Panic". "Dokidoki" is a Japanese onomatopoeia for a beating heart, usually used to express anxiety, hectic action, etc. Throwing in a completely unrelated song with a completely unrelated tone is kind of a strange thing to do, too.
You'd be surprised; I also know the title too since I'm a MASH fan.
But yeah; compared to the original song, this cover could stand some improvement. It's a good start; just keep practicing & looking at the works of others to understand their techniques.
