i want use a wav file (gameboy start up tune) to start one of my songs how can i do this?

By remaking the sound from your ear.

Seriously you can't, for the same reason you can't convert Mp3 to MID or WAV to S3M, etc.

You'll have to recompose the sound in question.

you could import it as a DPCM sample, although the quality will likely take a hit. The best way would be to recreate it with a square wave and and an arpeggio instrument.

oh yeah i noticed on other people's tracks there are lines whic cut off the note how do i do that?

the "1" key for older versions of famitracker.

In the new version you can set it in the config menu, but there is a bug that requires you to set it first before it'll start working. It's called Note Cut in the options.
