Going back to VRC6 and awesome DPCM bass =D This is a remix so, yes I know that the chord progression is a bit off (F instead of C in some parts), but I like this better =D

Based off the Sonic Megamix version.

Considering the popularity of this song, I'm astounded it hasn't had a whole lot of FT covers. But this remix of it is quite nice! I like the bass so much more than the original, because the original's bass was like octave 4 and annoying. Frame 0F suffers from a bit of discordancy, but not much.

Songs 2 and 3 sound really awesome. I love those arps.

It's had several, not that I can name them off the top of my head or anything. But like you said, this cover's pretty good! It gets a little cluttered around 0F, and the instruments could use some variation (if I'm not mistaken, the same lead instrument is used throughout), but you know how to sound design, otherwise, that's for sure.

Oh, it's had like 5 covers, danooct1's being the most famous. Well, the bass here is also octave 4, if you look at the actual pattern =P The discordant part comes from the Megamix version, but since I couldn't come up with an alternative arrangement, I went with it instead.

Song 2 and 3 are the same thing, haha. But I think you know that.

It is. But to me it never gets repetitive =D Thanks!

Pretty nice, man. I like how you used a PCM sample of the Twanga bass from Sonic 2, similar to what Sunsoft used to do in their tracks. My only criticism is that I think the percussion is a little repetitive. It makes the track sound slightly redundant, but not to the point where it's bad or anything. Kudos bro, and I hope to hear more from you. ^w^

Hm, this cover is neato! Though I actually prefer the original progression in places like the section starting with frame 09; it modulates up a semitone and the suspended major seventh chords it forms with the other parts gives the passage good tension. Leads to a resolution a few bars down the line that feels more satisfying to me.

The pickle in frame 0F comes from 2A03 Pulse 2 in this cover. In the original, the counterpoint line the second time around (VRC6 Pulse 2 in this cover) changes what used to be major tonality in that frame into suspended, and it doesn't clash because the original harmony line that would have clashed is replaced by the counterpoint (same channel).

If it were me, I'd get rid of the 2A03 Pulse 2 F# in that frame and then reinforce the suspended tonality; there's already enough going on that it won't sound suspiciously sparse, and no more clashing. Attached a few frames starting from 0D; have a listen if you're up for it.
Incidentally, line x14 in that pattern (a D#) also clashes in a few frames because it happens in a D major context, but it's not a big deal since you shift to D# right after it occurs. I changed it to a D in my edit just because it was nagging my ear a bit, but whatever.

Thanks! The percussion is pretty repetitive in the original to be fair, but yeah, I guess I could have spiced up a bit.

I like this better, but I've attached a version with this progression in it. Your choice.

Uhh... no comprendo, seƱor?

Ah, all right. Fixed. Thanks!

Meh, I really can't tell the difference. Fixed.

Mm, I can tell the difference and I like it. The clashing notes were relatively soft next to all the barnstorming in the other channels, but it still tickles the ear weirdly to me without the change.
I certainly like the original progression as well. It's so... urgent, makes you listen forward in anticipation of its motion because of how tense it is. Always liked that part as a kid :-).

But hell, it's your cover. I'd do different things because I'm not you, but there's no need to take anything I say seriously, especially if you have good justification for what you did. Which you most likely do, seeing how you've produced this damn good work.
