Sounds good so far! Here's something you should try though: When you make a 2 channel echo lead, put a Pxx effect on the echoed channel. The default Pxx value is P80, so setting it to P7F or P81 should be fine. This effect controls the tuning of the note. Using it will make the echo sound better. I made a slight edit so you can see what I mean better. (Note the P7F effect on the MMC5 pulse 1 channel.) I didn't include this in the edit, but maybe you could also add a little vibrato (effect is 4xy, x=speed, y=depth) to the lead to make it sound more lively.
