FamiTracker
Ok, so I was wanting to kind of mess around with the FamiTracker Source code, maybe sometime making my own custom build, and I was wondering; what software do you guys use? I opened it up in Visual Studio Express 2012 and when I try and run it, it just says "Windows cannot find 'hcc'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." every time. If there's another software you'd recommend, I'd love to hear it.

'hhc'. Is there a different way to load the file besides just go to the folder where I have it and double-click the solution file, FamiTracker.sln?

HHC.exe stands for HTML Help Compiler I think and is part of the Visual Studio.

So maybe reinstalling Visual Studio might help?
EDIT: I reinstalled Visual Studio (2013 this time) and when I did, and I try to build the project (the project is un-modified, I just tried running it how it came from the website) and this comes up: [quote=Visual Studio]Error MSB8031: Building an MFC project for a non-Unicode character set is deprecated. When I follow the link, and download the addon, it says that I don't have Visual Studio!

EDIT: It downloads fine for me and I don't even have VS 2013 0.o

I didn't mean that it wouldn't download the program, it downloads just fine; but when you start up the installer for it, it says I don't have VS at all.
EDIT: I should note that I have VS 2013 Express; I think that's the free version, and I don't even really know whether or not there's a paid version, but either way, that may or may not help.
RE-EDIT: Another thing, when I go to open up VS from start, I start typing in "Visual" and it doesn't show up. Based on this, it'd seem I really didn't have it. But when I click on FamiTracker.sln, it comes up.

Hey; I'm broke (well, broke is not the term, really) and I don't program much (outside of Unity) and I certainly don't program in C, C++. or VB. So, whatever; I guess "CH3DD4R's Build" will never exist... Oh well.

Look around for some DLLs. I think they exist for MFC.
