Hey yall, recently I was working on the soundtrack to an NES style game that unfortunately got scrapped, leaving me with 3 finished tracks for the game. I'm not sure what I'll do with them but please have a look and tell me what you think. If you only listen to one, pick Epic Approach; it's my favorite of the three. I'll return any crits o course

I'd say it has no NES style, sounds unusual for NES. Too much DPCM, and not my type of music (makes headache). Otherwise seems OK.

I've heard music from almost every NES games, and can't recall any with that amount of DPCM, or any with timpani samples as well (that gives most of unusual sound for NES here). Anyway, it's just my opinion, so 'too much DPCM for my taste', if you want.

Super Mario 3 used a timpani, but not to that extent.

Hey I appreciate your input...that said, NES style wasn't exactly what I was going for and I happen to like the timpani samples...oh well

I really liked it. It had like a Gothic feel to me. For some reason, Ankle_Chains had this Nine Inch Nails feel to me. I'm sorry you didn't get to use these songs on that game being developed, but thanks for sharing.

Guess what, I have a fever... and the only prescription is more DPCM!

(Sorry, I couldn't resist)

Funny, that's the first thing that popped into my head after I read Shiru's comment about the timpani.
