This must have been a logisitical nightmare though. Did you track this on two separate 1900x1080 monitors or something?
I had SmartMusic (a practicing program that has many band/orhestra/vocal scores and solos and technique books in it) open on one half of my 1920x1080 monitor and FT open on the other. I used the Sticky Notes widget on Win7 to organize my thoughts and choose which instruments would be in which file. Being a clarinet player, I knew 1st, 2nd and 3rd clarinet parts and the saxes would be on the first file :P I also knew the trumpets and trombones would have similar parts, so I put them together (which may not have been the best idea seeing as FT doesn't like it when the same note is being played on different channels, but that luckily is never a huge issue on these multichip projects). From there I realized what parts I still had that wouldn't fit in the remaining channels, and then I made a new multichip file, snapped it into place over SmartMusic and with both files up, I made an identical FTM--you know, speed, rows, Dxx effect, that stuff. Transposing and reading bass clef isn't an issue for me anymore. The most annoying thing was my decision to make it "cut time," twice as fast using Speed 3, so instead of each row being a 16th note, every two rows is a 16th. That and I decided to make tongued notes more audible, if that makes any sense. So like, instead of

...To give the impression that the notes are being tongued rather than everything being slurred because all of my instruments have volume macros that look something like "15 14 13 12" so if the same note comes up, it will make a sound instead of sounding like nothing happened. So, basically, everything sounds tongued, and I wanted to emphasize actual tongued notes to make the notes without cuts in between them sound like slurs. That was the most annoying part, because after every rehearsal number (or frame, depending on how long each segment is) I would stop and put the note cuts in because if not I would forget. As a matter of fact, I miscounted and placed the Dxx effect incorrectly in two places, and I realized that when working on the second file.
I know it sounds really complicated, but honestly it was fun to work on, and it felt so great to finally finish it after about 50 total hours or so of working on it.
