One very good way to figure out the technical style of the song is to remake it from scratch, and from ear..study the way it handles the square channels, look at it frame by frame if you have to. That's what I've been doing for the past 3 weeks on my Megaman Medley (which is nearing completion)
Here is the first 3 frames of Airman's stage music. I only did the drums and the bass line for now. I'll finish the entire song in the next few days and update the post when completed.
Ok I completed the Air Man stage. I know I said I would do it in a few days but I didn't get back to it for over a month. Sorry about that, I hope you got what you need from the earlier FTM I left and from tssf's comments.
Airman's theme out of the 8 robot masters in Mega Man 2 is the only one that contains triangle toms evenly placed. Here one row is equal to one quarter note:
---
TOM
---
TOM
Similarly, Crashman's theme also contains triangle toms but not as dense as those in Airman's. Here TOM''' means a delay of a dotted 8th note:
---
TOM
---
---
TOM'''
TOM (so this is a 16th note away from the one before)
---
---
This is pretty much Airman's style in Mega Man 2 while the game's soundtrack itself, however, has a more concrete information for all songs in that game, in this case, Mega Man 2.
