I put some of the FTMs I've downloaded onto my phone so I can listen to them in the car (or bother friends with inside joke songs) via the Create WAV option in FT. The problem is that the file sizes for longer songs is ridiculous. Things like 12MB for two minute songs or even 30-35MB for six minute songs. Obviously it varies between expansions, but I want to know, is it possible to create audio files from FTMs or NSFs that aren't so large? MP3s, anything compatible with iTunes?

WAV is uncompressed audio. Its size is determined only by how long the recording is. This has nothing in particular to do with FamiTracker, or what kind of sounds go in. Only length matters.

Convert to MP3 or FLAC if you want them to be smaller.

Wait, what exactly is the difference between FLAC and WAV? Aren't both lossless quality? I thought they were pretty much the same...
FLAC stands for Free Lossless Audio Codec, an audio format similar to MP3, but lossless, meaning that audio is compressed in FLAC without any loss in quality. This is similar to how Zip works, except with FLAC you will get much better compression because it is designed specifically for audio, and you can play back compressed FLAC files in your favorite player (or your car or home stereo, see supported devices) just like you would an MP3 file.
tl;dr: FLAC's lossless like WAV, but compressed, so the file sizes are smaller (though not nearly as small as lossy MP3).

I'll have to get an MP3 converter, I suppose. Thanks for the help, though.
