This is...a strange...STRANGE way to use Famitracker. This is something you definitely don't see often.
From what I'm trying to get from listening to it, it's supposed to be a garbled mess with some distorted sounds to kind of give it this kind of "somewhat disturbed" feel to it. If I weren't that lazy, I'd try something like this, personally (also the fact that this is FDS...props because I wouldn't touch the chip, but many would).
To be honest, this has put me in a very odd position. I'll once again say that it is unique and leave it there. If anybody else wants to take a stab at this, go ahead (and to make it more interesting, listen to it without looking at the .ftm first).

Now I wouldn't say that...okay, trying can be difficult...
However, I'm pretty sure that with enough focus (and some knowledge of music), you could make something closer to what's considered an actual song. Imagine the kind of trying that 8bitdanooct1 used when making the VRC6 cover of One Winged Angel.
I'd start out with covers and remixes at first, then work your way up to originals after you get a feel. Works out in the end.

The best thing for you to do is to find some kind of a theme that you can always go back to when you need some inspiration. Make an original theme based on an existing theme (that is, to say, find an existing theme that suits you & try to make a theme of your own that's compatible with it).
Check out the attachments to see what I mean. The "WIP" prototype & the collab song are very different from each other, but their themes can be combined (with enough creativity) into a medley or an entirely new song, since they share a few common things (like a certain bass pattern & a certain key). Listen to each song's individual channels & listen to each song fully; you'll see what I'm getting at.
This is just one way of doing things & PaulMannIV's suggestion is also very good to follow. In both cases, making a cover helps greatly. Or, you could also try to expand my incomplete collab song.
