How does one overclock a FamiTracker module to say, i dunno, in the kHz range? I've looked at a ftm in Notepad, but I couldn't find anything about it.

Also, I need a profile picture. Any suggestions?

Ummm... I've done it before, you have to use Cheat Engine or something similar to modify the address which contains the clock speed. If you download the program, it includes a tutorial which should help you with this process in case you are willing to do it. Also, I think you can do it with the text import/export but I haven't tried it.

If you overclock to ridiculous speeds (several thousands, generally over 10 KHz) you might freeze FamiTracker on playback and you'll have to use the task manager to kill the program.

[Also, a nice avatar would be a transparent PNG file]

Joking aside, just do a drawing in MS Paint or search around for a good image. It must be 100x100 max.

Check out the beast I attached. It's a sound made with manual Zxx writings. I overclocked the FTM to 21600 Hz but it isn't useful for anything. It's just an experiment I did last year.

Or you can modify an FTM file, and just load that whenever you need it.

I forget which bits are for the clock speed.

Oh, and you need a hex editor. Plain text will show a lot of blank things, periods, blank things that are actually spaces, and "random" chars.

I found this out all on my own (though, it wasn't hard) when I decided to try and engineer my own multi-chip module. I failed miserably, because it was undocumented then.

Have fun with my far more difficult method that will also increase your understanding of the inner workings of the tracker!

The limit of 400Hz is there for a good reason, otherwise you'll end up with a non-working NSF.

Thus proving your missing the entire point of Famitracker.

I record (some) NSFs on hardware. Feel free to [url=http://www.famitracker.com/forum/posts.php?id=3633]request a hardware render.
