I'm trying to express my hatred of my job by making a .ftm overflowing with it. I want it to sound terrible with lots of sawtoothy and low sounds to it. It should be looping, meaning going from the last frame to frame 00 or 01 (ideally). I have writer's block again and I don't know if it's going to go away anytime soon. FML. I can try to help improve this but I don't think my help will work. I also need to know how many namco channels to use.
It might help you to talk to someone about what's troubling you at work.
Otherwise, why not use VRC6 & try to make a Castlevania-like song you (the darkest you possibly can)? There's a sawtooth channel there, plus the 2 extra square channels can be adjusted in 8 different pulse widths (instead of the usual 3 or 4 duty cycle adjustments possible in the 2A03's square channels). use V00-V07 for that, plus be sure to use the Pxx & 4xx effects for pitch bending & vibrato.
Here are a few examples, but you can find all sorts or examples (most of which are better than this) that can prove how well VRC6 will work for the mood you want to convey.
