don't you need a modded tracker for that kind of stuff. i have one. the normal tracker can't combine expansion chips.

You can't export to NSF. Multi chip isn't finished yet.

Perhaps it's time to completely disable multiple expansion chips until it's finished.

You can't make multi chip with with Famitracker.

Try PPMCK/MML: https://github.com/BouKiCHi/ppmck

You only need a modified FTM module or a text import hack to create multi-chip music in the official FamiTracker build, but you won't be able to export to NSF or BIN formats. ipi's modified FamiTracker build lets you create multi-chip modules, but again, no NSF/BIN export.

You can, however, still export audio to WAV format, or you could always distribute the FTM module as is & let others know to use FamiTracker to play it. Otherwise, if you want NSF format, you'll either have to wait & give JSR some time, or use MCK.

the smart people can use ipi's fork, though, and nobody has to be told on the front page, because smart people would also tell people that ipi's fork is required to open

it all works out in the end

A good idea would be if someone took the source and did a partial rewrite of it to make it more compatible.

... don't look at me, I program in java and turing. Unless you want a turing port of FT, I'm not doing it.

I thought you picked up rainwarrior's recompiled version, though.
Unless you want a turing port of FT, I'm not doing it.
Another fellow Canadian?

Anyways, the bottom line is that it all started out as a hack. Until it can be done to its fullest in FamiTracker, I think ipi's version (with rainwarrior's compatibility update, if you want to call it that,) should be made as stickies.

Otherwise, a sticky should be made to mention about the existence of multi-chip music being a preliminary feature that started out as a hack with several caveats (including the steps on how to actually do it for those new people who just want to dive into it head first).
