I took a listen to TEHMEGAMASTAH's Cossack 2 using HertzDevil's Akumajou Densetsu Aquarius instruments. This brought me up to think "Hmm...has the instruments, but not quite the style." I put my shot into it and made my own.
Some notes before listening:
- This is not to insult or even outdo TEHMEGAMASTAH. I'm not going to do this often--I don't even see myself coming back to this style often. This is, and read carefully, merely my input on what it should sound like. As I've said before, liveliness is key in this style unless you're Alucard and haven't been awoken yet.
- 900 BPM/Speed 1 because, hey, that's my home with this program.
- Usual .ftm AND .nsf will be put in.
- I thought that the finished product was actually better than expected, hence why I felt that this fits in its own thread.
- I actually am wanting to see the final product of TEHMEGAMASTAH's project. I just believe that when applying Akumajou Densetsu styles, one has to seriously think outside of the box and not be afraid to improvise.
- The four last frames were worked on in a lousy sound environment and I couldn't easily hear everything go on, so if somebody could make some corrections on the harmony (if needed), much love!
With that said (what a mouthful), enjoy!
Oh, and Happy Valentines Day!

I can see the improvements made here. TEHMEGAMASTAH's version sounds good enough but it lacked some of the power that the AD tracks have. I can't talk on accuracy though, I don't know all the stuff you have to have in mind when doing a song in the AD style.
I see a problem with 2A03 Pulse 2, from frame 02 until frame 09, the higher notes sound too detuned, maybe changing the P7E to P7F could be a solution.

I can answer this one...to an extent. The bass in most Rock Man songs are simplistic with a few changes here and there, but the bass in AD is much more wild. The percussion is a wide range, though.

Oddly enough, "Beginning" shuffled between P7E and P7F; might change it all to P7F or P81 when I get behind a computer again.

Yeah, I see how AD had wild bass and strong percussions. I've listened to some of those tracks a lot but it's hard for me to believe that people replicate that style to make their music. It's just stunning.

That's the problem when you try to replicate a certain style too accurately. Well, I look forward to see the next version. :D

I want to say first that this is really nice. I sort of admire you for making tunes at 900bpm/Speed 1. Almost nobody does that nowadays, so you sort of keep the spirit of 900bpm/Speed 1 alive.
Now comes some criticism.
*The bass instrument is missing a V01 at the start of the note.
*The noise instruments aren't delayed by a frame when on the same beat as a DPCM sample.
I fixed those issues so you didn't have to, but please keep this in mind if you ever make CV3JP-style music again in the future.
I also noticed that some frames are timing and pitch modifications of NSFimported note sequences from "Beginning" in CV3JP, specifically some frames in the intro part, and a drum beat starting near the middle. I would advise against doing that, but I can't decide if you want to do that or not.
It's kind of strange to hear you making CV3JP-style music again, but it is nice, as all of your stuff is.
Thanks for the fixes, moviemovies1--definitely sounds better. A bit of explanation...the point KIND OF was to link a little to "Beginning", somewhat as a little tribute or little "hey, it's that small piece of thing from this other song" or something like that. I could just say I was lazy (kind of was).
If I ever come back to this style again, I'll keep the above points in mind.
