I heard about famitracker a while ago, but didn't have time to learn how to use it. Recently though, I downloaded it and have already made a few covers here: http://www.youtube.com/user/StormWind464 . I saw there was a forum site and thought it would be best to join (if someone could give me a quick guide to the content and people here I'd appreciate it) to show my stuff and ask questions. Whenever I finish a new song I'll put it in this thread.
So...while I'm typing this, can someone please help me figure out how to get the DPCM channel to work?
Posted this in the short songs thread too. Oh well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rAj0KmdDYA
Have you read the help file that comes with FamiTracker?
Because the help file (along with the wiki on this site) has a lot of useful information for beginners & experts alike.
Just found it and there's a blank white rectangle where (I'm guessing) the information is supposed to go. I'd post a picture, but this website isn't letting me for some reason.

I always had this problem. just use the wiki, or observe others tracks like I did.

So I take it you two are also on Windows 8. In order to read the help file, you need to disable the security prompt that keeps popping up everytime you run the help file manually from Explorer. First, extract the help file from the zip file (be sure it's in the same folder as FamiTracker,) then run the help file & uncheck the check box that says "Always ask before opening this file."
This is a security warning feature in Windows that purposely tries to block HTML & other scripting from running, even inside a help file (to protect people from possible viruses that may be packed inside). I can confirm that it's a safe file if you have any doubts.

Sorry I've been gone recently, life was busy and got me sick. But now I'm back and have just finished the biggest cover I'll do in a while: Master of Puppets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71Xp_hS8i3w
Video didn't turn out as good as the real thing so that'll be here too. Also I did not make the DPCM sample (didn't even see this website again until just now). It was found here: http://www.famitracker.com/forum/posts.php?id=4555
wow great job. that must have been a lot of work. sounds great. in frame 08, row 54, n1-2 [guitar], that chord comes one row [16th] too soon. should look like this.
While that does admittedly sound more like the original, I was using multiple sources to make it and none of the agree with what you posted. I might remake that sometime in the future though.
In the mean time, here's a little diddy I did a cover of: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buC0FX0ZaIw
My ears hurt after listening to this. Try making the noise channel lower, but not too low, because from what I'm hearing, the song has to be in sync with the drums.
(You're better at effects than I am.)
