Pootie had a good suggestion on IRC. We were talking about how a lot of us don't have a mouse wheel and can't use the volume column adjustment feature on that, and it would be good to have it on a key as well.
CTRL+F1/F2 to adjust by 1 would be appropriate. Now instead of just working on the notes column, it could work on all columns as an increment/decrement. (Perhaps F3/F4 could adjust the effect column high nibble.)
This is a good idea, I'll add it to the todo-list.
Ctrl+F1/F2 might work but might also interfere when transposing multiple channels. That's the reason transpose and modifying other values are assigned to ctrl- and shift+mouse wheel respectively.
I'm wondering though, what does Shift+F1/F2/F3/F4 do? I tried finding something in the configuration and the manual, but didn't find an answer.
EDIT: Reading more carefully, I got to the conclusion that this would help with multiple channel editing, since there could be a difference between volume and effects. Is this right?

I've added Shift+F1/F2 to decrease and increase volume and effect values. Shift+F1 was assigned to context sensitive help but that's unused for the main window.
I'll try to finish and get the next version released soon.
