Hey all, just wanted to post this here and get some feedback. It's something I've been working on for the last few weeks and plan to release it soon. It's the first big thing I've done with VRC6, so I'm sure there are plenty of tricks I overlooked, but I'm pretty excited about the way things are going so far.

I am enjoying this, though there are a few times with ear-harming phasing, can be fixed by detuning one of two channels that will play any note at any given time.

Also, noise work is a bit boring. It fits in well with the rest of the song, but it could still be made more interesting while still fitting in. That, with the inconsistency between using DPCM and using solely noise, makes the percussive work in this [collection?/OST?] leave a bit to be asked for.

Yeah, I'll definitely be the first to say that noise channel stuff is something I need to work on more. I'm curious about the phasing, though, can you point me to some places where it's a problem? I really appreciate the constructive criticism, it can be hard to get.

It's a small amount of a problem on each song, but it's notable in the opening of song 2. This can be fixed with either P7F/P81 on one of two channels that will play the same note (even on different octaves) at the same time, or it can be fixed with moderate vibrato, such as 441 if you're using the command, or 0 0 0 | -1 -1 0 0 1 1 0 0 (and variants) in the instrument. This makes leads sound more lively, and keeps, say, tenor and bass from slapping each other in the cock with the sharp end of a blade, or the lead and the backgrounds from having a pillow fight with rock-filled bodybags.

Interesting... Did you create this in FamiTracker, or with MML?

By the sound of your music, it looks like you intended to use a note stop, though I feel some of them shouldn't if they're to be used in a game (looping them continuously would be nice). Use C00 for that if you're using FamiTracker & intend to keep the album in NSF format.

I must say I like tracks 3 (with its intro that sounds a bit reminiscent of Castlevania,) 6, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14 & 15. Track 12's intro sounds pretty novel (like on a beech with seagulls; I hope that was your goal, seeing as how this is an RPG type of album).

I'd improve track 8 by adding echoes at the end of your lead notes, instead of ending them abruptly. Volume control could also use a bit of work (you need the volume to be more dynamic, like in track 9).
