Well, I promised I would finish this, and I actually did!

So this is a cover of the first stage from Sparkster for Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive, depending on where you live). I really like this song, and I also like the way this cover came out, so here it is.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the expansions I used.

Well, what did you expect? This is NES, not Genesis.
Plus it would sound awful with VRC7

This isn't bad, but...

1. Was there any real point to using those expansions instead of just VRC6?

2. Those DPCM samples are really quiet.

1. Because I don't like VRC6. *shot*
2. Yes, I am aware they are quiet, but I have no idea how to make them louder.

EDIT: Also, I wanted to use something other than a sawtooth wave for the bass.

If you're importing them from non-DMC files, you just increase the boost when importing, or boost the volume of the files in the first place.

I would do that, but the problem is FamiTracker's built in WAV importer is retarded. I've heard there is a standalone WAV to DMC converter, but I don't know where to find it.

I hate to tell you, but I just can't get the thing to work. I even tried running it under Windows XP via VirtualBox, and it STILL doesn't work. (I'm on a Mac BTW)

The best program to use to prep wavs for famitracker is to use Audacity. Once in Audacity just boost the wav to the max without clipping the sound. You can then import it into famitracker and it should be at an ample volume. Audacity is what I use to prep any wav I want to import into famitracker.
