So I have an Acorn Masterkey 49 that I picked up from Ebay, and have been trying to figure out how to get this thing working [properly] with Famitracker. I couldn't get it to play anything but the Square 1. Even if I clicked in the region of the channel I wanted to play, it still would only play and record to Square 1. I've since updated to 0.4.2 and in this, I can actually click in the row for the channel I want to play and it will record notes to that channel, but it *still* plays Square 1 sound... which makes it a little difficult to gauge what that channel is going to sound like, since I have to listen to the Square sound and approximate what the instrument I am recording to will sound like. Onscreen keyboard still works right, click on it with the mouse and it plays the Triangle or Noise or whatever column I've clicked in. But I don't want to have to always play from the Virtual Keyboard, I want to use my Midi keyboard...
In Propellerhead's "Reason," my keyboard works just fine. You click on Thor, you play and record Thor sounds, you click on Subtractor, you play Subtractor sounds, you click on Kong or Redrum and you play those... it even has the option to have more than one instrument being recognized as input device, so I have the Masterkey 49 for playing scaled instruments and I have a Midi Fighter Spectra for tapping out drum beats in Kong or Redrum. For now, Famitracker only supports having a single device as the midi input.
I would like to see this kind of simplicity (and extra instrument options) come to Famitracker. Also Asio4All support would maybe be something to consider. I keep getting "buffer underrun" messages at the bottom when playing multiple notes, and I have to increase my buffer size to avoid it, but then my keyboard doesn't respond quite as quickly.

Yes he has.
UoPoko, go into the MIDI settings (in the FamiTracker configuration) and, if ticked, untick the box that says "Map MIDI channels to NES channels". That should remove the automatic binding.

Thanks, that did it. Though I',m still noticing a smidge of latency, but then again, I am on a crummy Realtek soundcard afterall. Anyway, thank you for the tip. Now if only Derflemask also would let me use my keyboard on it.
