Here I have a cover of my favorite ending song, the one from Super Mario World, done in VRC6 and applying a lot of things I have learned since I got here last year.
The sound design got a bit screwed from frame 12 on, because the original song demanded too many channels with similar sounds, which was not possible to emulate quite perfectly with the VRC6, but I did my best effort to make it sound good. Other quirks such as the Zxx pops which I couldn't control are in there but I tried to make them unnoticeable.
Other than these few problems I had with the song, I think it's pretty good as it is and of all my previous covers, I think I like this one the most.
Well, enjoy. Any suggestions, comments, criticism or anything else is welcome.
[I should have done this with N163 and 5 channels, but well, I'll leave it for the future. Also, I think it wasn't too necessary to add all those samples]
EDIT: Fixed some wrong stuff.

Guess what? It took me a short night and two full days, it wasn't too long. Thanks for your comment.
[I started it about two days ago, really!]

Nah, I'm just a simple human, maybe like you. I'm just developing tracking skills as time passes and as I practice with the program. Maybe you are going to do awesome stuff some day too.

I really appreciate it! Would be cool to hear it playing from the actual console (if I only owned an NES).
Thanks everyone for your comments. It's great to see you all liked this!
[Yeah, it's cool when you come up with something and people enjoy it. Makes me happy!]

What amazing time of such a post; I just beat this very game on a computer with no sound output (via ZSNES), and didn't get to experience this fine piece of art firsthand.
My only skepticism is that it sounds quite raspy, and the original song was rather smooth and airy. While this raspy sound is nice, I quite much prefer the smoother sound of the original, as it feels more like a credits theme, which is what you usually want in the staff roll.
Otherwise, very nicely done!
[color=#333333]I wonder when someone's going to bring up that I only ever state what's wrong with the instrumentation when I comment
About the sound, that's where I screwed up. Maybe the raspy sound comes from the sound waves themselves, since sawtooth and pulse have a gritty sound, but the other comes from not being able to control volume on some channels and the samples, along with the Zxx writes. That's why I should have done this with N163, but maybe in a few months I'll upload a version using that expansion.
That's all, glad you liked it!

also, slightly derailing, but related to my post above (highlight the whole thing, you will see), did you know that the post background is #333333 perfectly?
[color=#333333]I've actually inserted this stuff into my posts quite frequently, it's sort of fun to insert things to the bottoms of posts without anyone reading it.
Though, more on-topic, I think it would be more appropriately done on the VRC7, not on the N163, because of the aliasing on the N163 and the fact that the VRC7 is nice for very wide ranges of horns that sound only vaguely different.
