A short song I made. As the name suggests, I think it sounds like something you would hear in an overhead map screen like in Mario 3 or Donkey Kong Country.
This does not sound like anything any Japanese composer would make(and obviously it sounds like no Mario game, but maybe Donkey Kong Country if the nes game was made by rare ). The music is more towards Tim Follin and other European developers. Anyways, good song. By the way what key is this song in?
I seriously doubt he meant that it was supposed to sound like it was actually made by some old NES game music composer in Japan
Anywho, I can hear the SMB3 and DKC influences in the MELODIC content of the song, disregarding any stylistic conventions. It's cool. I really liked the beginning part. Reminded me of the old Rhythm and Blues stuff. (I thought Tim Follin was a composer not a developer)
Sorry if I confused you. What I meant was the song sounds like it should go on an overhead map screen, as in a map screen that you would see in games like Mario 3 or DKC. I certainly didn't mean that the music sounds like it belongs in those games, or any game with music composed by a Japanese composer. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!
Can I just say that you capture the European style very, VERY well? This is impressive.
