Hey buddies

I'd like to ask if anyone knows what year were the different nes audio expansion ics developped, specially vrc7. I know Lagrange Point was released in 1991, but don't know really when it was ready to rock at Konami HQs I've been googling for a while, but couldn't find any relevant information.

Seems likely it was in a finished prototype in 1990 or 1991, given that Lagrange Point was the only game that used it. Other FM synthesis chips existed before that though.

Most likely just research the YM2413 (also called OPLL) since that's what the VRC7 is based on.

I checked the [url=http://bootgod.dyndns.org:7777/profile.php?id=3643]NES cart database and the date code for VRC7 indicates it was made in the year 1990 (week 50), so I think it's safe to assume it was first made some time earlier that year, as it's just a modified variant of the YM2413.
