I can't really see that being a robot master's theme song for a Megaman game. The constant high pitched, same note over and over runs get rather annoying after a while too.
Sorry, for now this is terrible, especially for game. I doubt that it is possible to improve, everything must be changed. Try to start from scratch and make it less repeating and annoying. It will be better after few such attempts.
I checked your images on that thread and the robots are nice.
Regarding the song, I would agree with most that I doesn't have that mega man feel and you will have to do something with that first channel since it can get on your nerve after a while.
The song idea is not bad, but not mega man like. I checked your sample and you use many from other games. I would suggest to check Tssf ftm sample and use the same mega man like instrument and try a few things with it.
With experience with the style and instrument, you should be able to get to something interesting.
well, oh crap, i always tough that i worked hard on this one, but at the same time, i feel like makin megaman-esque it might ruin the mood
but you are right.
btw here's another BGM i made, this one was easy to make
what do you think ?, i made this one based on Tallboyy cover of Megaman 3 if you dont mind, if you do, i apologize
You should try to go for a Mega Man sound in the music. Since Roll is a character from the series, and all. Three things that may help you in composing any music related to Mega Man:
1) Try to figure out what style of music you want, or follow a particular composer, whose worked on a Mega Man game.
2) Work on the theme of your level, and the theme of the level's music. You've done this a little bit, already. Some cases, this didn't apply to Mega Man. Like Shadow Man's song. While it didn't really sound too ninja-like, it still turned out to be the coolest tune, though.
3) The strong Melody is key, and the most important thing in Mega Man music, and in quite a bit of Japanese music. It's usually full of variety in a lot of things, such as the famous vibrato, note fade-out(Mega Man 3-6 & 9), pitch slide, etc. Apache Woman's song has almost no melody at all, and, sorry if I sound like I'm repeating others, but it's very repetitive. It all has to flow, with the well-known toms. You put the toms in the song.
Just keep with the theme. A good soundtrack to follow, in this case, would be Mega Man 6, as Yuko Takehara did pretty well with keeping a theme for a boss level. Last, but not least, keep trying! You will improve greatly after enough time!

Another thing, I might add, is that the triangle needs to play more than drumming effects in the song. It has to be musical, as well. Make sure that it's not too low pitched, or too high pitched, like the universally criticized Mega Man 2 on Game Boy.

It fits the comedy theme well. It sounds a little more like a Mega Man game than the other song I heard. I would turn the square channels down a bit, though. I wasn't able to get to my PC for a day, so the instrument request is a bit delayed, sorry. For now, here's Duck Tales' Moon Song, in the module format, and NSF. I've done both of these, but because of how FamiTracker is, it doesn't sound exactly like the NSF. The only reason I included the FTM, is so you can see how the instruments work. It doesn't sound as close to the real song as the NSF does. I would recommend that you listen to the NSF, most of all, though.

If someone doesn't upload the instruments before the 27th or the 28th, then I should have them by then. I apologize for the delay, but I have been extremely busy with other things this month.

I've been able to use NSFPlay, but I had to use it on another PC that has Windows XP, not Vista, because it doesn't work. What does this mean? It means that I can get the instruments way more accurate than what I was doing before. I'm still working on it, since I just got back from out of state. If the Little Nemo instruments aren't here by this evening, then most of them should be here by the 29th.
