Since the song was made with famitracker for one of my project and nesdev is maybe not the right place to have comments about it, I decided that I should post my current draft as an NSF here.

I really am no expert at tracking, still a beginner so you should keep that in mind while listening. I used Tssf s3m as a reference for the squares channels to help fix some note when not sure and learned many small tricks from it. I cannot read music so the only way to use that file was to listen note by note when I had doubt, either the s3m or the original song. For the drum track, this is my own and I had to listen many, many, many time very slow to get all the notes.

It feel not so bad for now, not perfect but if I can find the time, I still want to improve the noise/drum track.

I'm not sure how to post file here so for now I will put an url.

Tssf warned me that this song is hard and he was right.. It was pure hell for a beginner but it's starting to sound good.

Any comments about it will be more than appreciated.

Edit:

Updated the file with some fix again for drum. Still a few things doesn't sound like I want but getting better.

Just my habit to care about small details. For me, all channels are important.

There is a lot of details in that drum track and this is something that was missing in the current version I heard. I just put more time into it because I wanted it to be as accurate as possible. Still, since I'm quite new to tracking and FT, it's hard to make the right sound when the noise channel is random and the original song uses perfect sample that never changes.

Wow, your cover is amazing. The only thing I hear is that the drums are just a little bit too intrusive.

Thanks for the comment, always appreciated.

The drums... All notes are there, just it still requires a lot of tweaking to sound right. Tssf told me that he was concerned about the noise channel. For example, the kick drum is just a raw note so it doesn't sound right (didn't know, still learning!..). He told me how to fix it.

Once I can tweak it enough, I will release the ftm. Some of the credits have to go to Tssf since without his s3m and comments, I would have never been able to remake that song fast since I'm a beginner and more a coder than a musician

@Danooct1: Based on your comment, I reduced the volume a little bit on the noise channel. It's still not perfect but it make a difference. I updated the file. Thanks again for your comment.

Thanks for the comment again. I still have a few things I want to tweak before to releasing it has a ftm.

Since I'm building (slowly) a game engine on the nes, I will test my engine by making one mega man 9 level. I think you may be able to guess by now that I'm making concrete man one. I hope I will succeed. If not, the experience of making the music and trying to make that level will be useful for my own game anyway.

I promised to upload the ftm when my song is finished. I think it's not yet ready but it's just because I'm picky on how it should sound

With my current skill (beginner), I don't think I can tweak it yet to how I really want it to be so what the heck, let's upload it anyway. Hope it will be useful to someone. Thanks again to Tssf for his s3m, I learned all kind of small tricks from it trying to reproduce it.

Looking better than the first version did, for sure. Now develop my personality and start tearing out hairs when you notice minute flaws in your work that the vast majority would never notice and you can be my pal.

Sounding good banshaku, you should still work on the delays to get those triplets right, though.
