Hello! Ever since a very old post I had made back in 2012 with a cover of the surfing theme from Pokemon Silver, I've been dabbling in Famitracker here and there.

By here and there, I mean very, very infrequently.

I decided recently to get a bit more serious with this program after realizing that I had done absolutely nothing over the summer except play videogames, and I needed something with which I could productively spend my time. I'm in my senior year, so it's time to get serious. About 8-bit music. [size=1]not college oh god what even is that

So, to kick start my little Renaissance, I decided to pull out some of the things I've been doing over the past year and post them here. One thing I'd really, really appreciate is criticism! Good and bad! Sugarcoated and brutally honest! Useful and.. well useful would be nice!

Note that my stuff is incredibly newbie. I don't have any of the cool instrumentation and super crazy effects that experienced guys have; therefore, tips and tricks for those kinds of things would also be appreciated.

Another thing that annoys me is that a lot of my "original" stuff is subconsciously pulled from the things I like. The ending of bloopity_doo has a similar chord progression to the Metroid ending theme, epics_fast sounds like the overworld theme of the Zelda: Oracle games, etc etc etc. Nayru's song sounds like Nayru's song.

TL;DR please listen to my stuff and criticize it

I can't tell if it's intentional or not that you leave 4xy commands unchecked

I like your stuff, and it's isn't as newbie as you make it out to be actually. You've got a calm/minimal vibe about your, as you call them, "originals".

I dunno, though; all the ftms I see around here always have crazy expansion chips and are set at like 1 speed... not to mention my complete lack of knowledge when it comes to drums.

I mean, I like making melodies and harmonies, but I just feel like I'm scratching the absolute surface of what Famitracker can do in terms of instrumentation and the like.
