Good to be back on Famitracker again. I got a recent drive to make another song be ear and did just that! Today's feature is Batman (NES): Stage 3. Did I mention that I liked the entire game's soundtrack without making any complaints? Well, here's another song from it in my usual 900 BPM style.
I'll be honest, I was a bit lazy with the percussion (as usual--what has changed?), but my friends seemed to like it, so I'm pretty sure that it would be a hit here anyways.
Enjoy everybody--now to go back to Competitive Pokemon Battling.
...love how this thread has been ignored for a bit.
...love how this thread has been ignored for a bit.
Well, there has been some controversy here on this forum with the return of certain members. And you also released this when a new (amazing) album just got posted. My guess is that most members are a little bit distracted by these things.
As for me, I have nothing to say about the song. It is just too good, I cannot point out anything to add or subtract from it. I therefore opt out of posting anything since I lack constructive criticism to say. (But I post anyway since I wanted to ask you a thing.)
How did you make this cover / remix? Did you just import the .nsf and then add your own stuff into it or did you cover it by ear first and then check with an imported .nsf? I know you say you did it by ear, but how so? Just curious.

Sorry, have been really busy. This is good! It's not everyday someone will take a well-known game's soundtrack, and cover a song that's barely ever covered, or even heard as much as the first level. Much respect from me.
Also, Frames 10 and 11's VRC6 channels remind me of a biplane, for some reason, lol. Maybe that's Batman flying around, or something.
...
Wait a minute, "Controversy"???

Some people will know that I refuse to import .nsf files while making covers. I, literally, brought up the YouTube video and played back sections that needed rehearing and refining. It was quite fun, really. I always prefered listening by ear. It requires some serious listening and NOT looking over the map for the already made files. You could bring up the .nsf and find many differences--I have no doubt. Hell, I compared another cover before and found it FAR off.
Of course, you could ask my dad, since he was around when I made it, that the only other .ftm up was a previous cover of Suicune's Battle.

Oh yay, because THAT'S what we needed. We needed to throw in skepticlism in a Famitracker forum because our lives aren't crazy enough.
I guess the VRC6 Pulses were kept on a single note for too long...I still kind of like it. It's a direction I've never taken those channels before. The idea came from RushJet1's Mega Man 3 VRC6 Remixes--particularly Magnet Man. ^_^

Oh, Dad was in the same room I was in while making it and trying to understand the program. He was trying to see how I make my music...the same reason I watched him play guitar, I guess. It's not like he helped me with this or anything--he still can't tell the difference between instruments ^_^
