I'm creating an Island theam song and I'm really not sure what the hell I should put for a lead melodie in this song. For island songs, I'm not that experience in creating music in that grene, but then again, I'm still an ameture at music all together.

Around 17 is where I want the lead.

Can you guys recommended any islandy music, or better, some sugesstions on what I can put there? Help would be really appreciated.

... something less minor-keyed or crazy replaced with something more relaxing, major-keyed wouldn't hurt, for starters ...

Actually, I see what you're trying to do here; you're trying to make a tune with the sound of steel drums (& trust me, this has nothing to do with what key you're using).

A major problem here is the level of discord in this tune, but that's my opinion. You should try listening to some steel drum music & play around with your volume control to try & level it out (especially since there are so many harmonics possible with actual steel drums).

The fast tempo and repetitive melody at frame 17 make it hard to suggest anything that would produce an "island" feel in that context. Personally, I would ditch the melody for either a less "busy" non-repeating melody (perhaps with a bit of triplet action), or a mellow chord progression.

I personally did change part 17 and onwards, but I'm still not sure if I should stick to the song. I agree with throwing the baby out of the water and starting all over again. If I do, I won't be using 16 rows, it's too much a pain in the ass.

Here's the edited Music if anyone is still interested.
