Something I'm working on at the moment. Started off as a custom ringtone, but I was too attracted to the slow, calm vibe of the main melody (copied off of the "Super Mario Bros" iconic "Star Theme"), and decided to get more serious with it.
It's a WIP for sure and nothing's permanent in my projects, but I'm still open to any feedback you may have, trivial or not. Thank you. <3

I'm probably overreacting, but this has never happened to me with music. I smiled at every little change, and blushed at the big ones. I really like what you added, definitely sounds more full now.
And about the sawtooth bass, I had half the mind to add it, but I didn't think it would work out. But I think you did make it work. And yes, I did take note of that single change to the bassline from A-3 to A#3. Thank you for that, I'll definitely have to use that.
Wait. I've never done this before, but I'd hate for your work to just be something that never gets used somewhere.
Collaborative song, poodlecock? :) Credits credits of course, and I'll publish it on my tumblr with your permission. So, mind if I use this? It really works, and I've only slightly changed my own file* since you added to it.

EDIT2: Just noticed all the frame value changes. Hahaha. Interesting.
The frame value changes were actually auto-completed with the "Merge duplicated patterns" option. And sure, why not? Though I'm more of a guy who tweaks than one who actually composes.

I think this went fairly well. Your move. Best of fun. Sorry about them filenames. I created a new folder for collabs and titled this one appropriately.
EDIT: Hope you haven't seen the other version because here's a very small change that I snuck in, even when I still want to make a bunch of other changes still! (However, don't worry if you already started working, as I can redo it quite easily)

I can work with this, nice take on the direction. I was thinking of milking the whole island thing and adding a little more cheesy yet smooth island junk, but I like progression anyways. But--I'll definitely be tweaking a few things. Still, good stuff. I'll be back. :)

Sorry for my lack of activity, I've been in school and have had substantially less time to work on the project--and most of the work (other than volume tweaks and such) I've put into it is less than inspired.
Also, here's a checkpoint from an earlier time. People do seem to like the song, even though we're not getting a bunch of feedback here.
Ah, I like that statement. Laid back yet eerie. That's definitely what it's headed towards in this belated update. Thank you for being the first comment (other than poodle). Hope my dear partner hasn't left me because of my terribly slow endeavors! Forgive me, please, poodlecock.
I finally have some significant augmentation to this work to show you. It's not nearly as much as poodlecock had contributed in that very long spree of things they added, but I'm hoping to pick this thing up again, and get it out in the open so that it's known that work is being done.
Plus, I am a bit stuck here. I've added and removed so much and I feel stalemate-y. I'm hoping that poodle can work his magic and revive it once again.
I fixed the filename. When poodle shares it back, I'll rename it to, or it should end with:
"pcock.[month abbreviation].share##(poodle/I will use our own discretion in how the numbers will work when needed)"
Once again, I apologize for my lack of activity. And now that my school life has [i]somewhat[/i] stabilized, I can work on this more, and be much more active than one update over 2 months. Look forward to finishing this thing. Or at least reviving it so that it's moving again.
It sounds really wonderful! I hear some Lavender-town influences in what you've already done, but the last part is kind of unexpected-in-a-bad way. If you could lead up to it, or somehow make the transition gentler, it'd be much improved.
Interesting comment. Yes, okay. After listening to that part a little more critically, I could see how that would be a good idea--extending out the transition. It'd be a chance to sort of emphasize that downward spiral back into errie-ness. Personally, I was attracted to the sudden, even-deeper dip into that emotion, and I found it pleasant. But now I have this other point to consider as well.
Perhaps I could prolong the transition, somehow, over a few frames. Or maybe poodle will come along soon (I wouldn't blame poodlecock for thinking this project was dead, however) and have some sort of [i]eureka[/i] moment.
In the meantime, until poodle replies, I will probably continue to work on it, since I have a good amount of time this weekend.

I thought this was dead tbh, but I decided to pop in today... and POOF! It's back!
Here's the thing. Now I'm the one who has to go to school... so maybe I may work on the transition from frames 16-17, adding a few frames from an idea I came up with inspired by a bit of DKC, seeing how well Dave Wise pulled it off in Bramble Blast. =)
