I'm a newbie to the whole Famitracker thing, but I've learned a lot thanks to a series of tutorials. I've alreadys tarted making a song, but I want to put a little more "oomph" into the beat. I've been looking for a specific drum sound, and I believe I've found it!

There's this certain *SMACK* sound part of the beat that's part of the beat, and it starts at around 25-26 seconds in. I'm making a song and I just want to have the kinds of drum noises that this game has! How would I go about making a sound like this in Famitracker? Or would I have to find a .dmc file for it instead?

Sounds like an arpeggio snare. Try this on the note 0-#:

I tried my hand at figuring out the noise drums for this, and this is what I came up with.

Thank you both so much for the help, but now I have another problem. I'm trying to sort of lead them into the song by fading them in, but despite using the Axx command on this snare, the volume remains as loud as ever. Is there a way to accomplish this?

Also, is there a way to create a second noise channel?

- Try lowering the volume in the (ahem) volume column. (Or make another instrument that is softer.)

- Once Sunsoft 5B is done, there will be an easy way to create a second noise channel. My recommendation for the time being? Using DPCM for kicks, snares, and toms and using noise as hihats, cymbals, and snare support.

Well, you could try using the volume channel. It may not be as good, but if you don't want it full blast, Drop it down to an A or something in the volume column. If you want to still use Axx, try putting A00 at different places to see how loud you want it to be. I added an FTM using the old drum loop of the last I had put up here. There's two songs, one for each method.

One that's exactly like the one already there? No, I don't think so. There are ways to make noise drums in both the FDS and the N163 (and the Sunsoft 5B, but that's only sort of supported, you'll have to find the build that enables it somewhere here.)

Many thanks! It took me a moment to realize what column was the volume column, but I can make it work now! Thank you all so much.

No problem! Though if you want to ask something, check the Wiki first.
