You missed one P7F in Death Egg 1. But yeah it was by accident.

EDIT: Added Sandopolis 1 noise snares. Also, updated the medley. Though the intro is the same, now there are more songs in it: Angel Island 1, Hydrocity 2, Carnivore Night, Launch Base 1, Icecap 1, Mushroom Hill 2 (incomplete as there *is* no Mushroom Hill 2 track), no Lava Reef 1 as that's not even started..., Flying Battery 2, Sandopolis 1, and Death Egg 2. Currently, it just loops.

Say, do you guys want the medley to end with Sonic 3 or Sonic & Knuckles all clear theme?

Should end with both if possible, though it would be odd. I vote S&K ending.

I don't understand very well for the moment, and my main doubt is if you are going to make the medley the way it is in Sonic 3 & Knuckles or if you are going to make your own medley using the songs of the game.

Also, why is Hytrocity 2 labeled as "Placeholder"? Are you planning on changing it at some point?

I plan to follow the order I listed, with Sky Sanctuary at the end before the all clear theme. That way, from Angel Island all the way to the IceCap, it follows the prototype order, and from Mushroom Hill to the end, it follows the released order.

Hydrocity 2 was not made by anyone who posted in this thread, but by Star89er, who is no longer active here. I plan to change it to avoid any possible forum drama situations. They're fun to watch, no doubt, but not fun if you're caught in the middle of it.

I always hated the bass patch I used in Doomsday Zone, so I changed it and hopefully it sounds better than before.

I noticed this song has lots of problems with volume control but I tried to balance it and I broke the whole song, so I left it as it was. I only changed the bass patch and the octaves in triangle and FM channel 1.

If anyone can provide a better patch, it's welcome, since I'm still not so good in creating instruments for the VRC7.

Also, now you have to put the date in the copyright box as I did. This will make it easier for downloaders.

I left a P81 effect hanging in Desert Palace and I didn't cancel it. It's fixed now, since that was unintended.

Uh, just to ask, what version are you guys using for listening/composing the songs? I'm using 0.4.3 b2 since there are some differences between this one and 0.4.2 in VRC7 emulation. This can be seen in Flying Battery Zone 1 for instance, the bass halts too late in 0.4.2.

I'm using both versions, though primarily 0.4.2. The 0.4.3 behavior seems to be different handling of the cutoff, muting it immediately, while the 0.4.2 behavior uses the proper ADSR envelope, I believe. While I prefer the 0.4.3 behavior, I think that this should have been addressed publicly instead of being added in quietly.

EDIT: Well, this is interesting: try importing the 0.4.3 NSF into the NSFImporter software by rainwarrior. Is the P00's intended or is this a new feature that only some software support?

I don't see any P00s but there are many 300 effects. As I know, the NSF Importer abuses the 3xx effect (mostly at 3FF) to avoid retriggering notes, which is what I did with Doomsday Zone.

I don't know why there would be lots of 300s but if you see a 3FF is because this effect prevents retriggering a note when applied in the VRC7.

EDIT: Added a template module and changed its comment. From now on I'll upload templates every time I add a new song, if it has any new instruments.

EDIT2: I was doing some edits on File Select and noticed that the pulses don't play for so long. In the current module, they will always be playing in the first frames, but in the original song they halt shortly after being played. Tell me if you are going to leave the song like that or if you want me to edit their lengths.

Also, might add some frames to the song in case you aren't working on it yet, but I may not work on percussions. I'll leave that to you if I do something to the song.

I was too lazy to work on File Select completely and just added some notes so that it would play more smoothly. I'm not too familiar with the original, but if the original always plays the PSG, then keep it that way. Also, if you could add the rest of the notes, that would be appreciated. The percussions consist of pretty much what I already have, so that's not too much of a problem.

EDIT: Are you sure about the 3FF's? I'm talking about track 14/15, Flying Battery Zone.

Uh, okay, I'll check those tracks. Also, maybe I'll work on File Select these days, add some things or edit others.

EDIT: Do you mean the P00s that the importer puts along with note cuts? I don't know why it would be like that but I think it's related to the use of Sxx effect in those channels. Go and check some of the tracks in the original module and see what Sxx does to the channels. There's some sound that plays when Sxx command is used on some channels, and this can be noticed in the Mini Boss theme, for instance.

EDIT2: Little progress on File Select theme. I added pulses and corrected (ruined) the notes in FM channels 4 and 5. Still, since the FM channels and the pulses play roughly the same notes, working on a harmony there would be neat since the notes wouldn't stand out if they are equal to the ones in the pulses. I'll work on this for the moment and once there's nothing else to do, I'll start adding frames.

You will notice that I corrected the lengths for the steel drums in the song. They were too slow.

I just came here to tell that I've been very busy with uni and other FT stuff, so I apologize if my progress hasn't been that great. It's very stupid of me that I haven't done the S&K Title theme yet, especially since I did the Invincibility one. Anyway today I'm gonna try to cover the S&K Title theme and see how things will go. After this, I'll jump to Sky Sanctuary.

Poodlecock, I see that you haven't done very much with Hydrocity 1, do you mind if I take a look at it AFTER I've finished S&K Title and Sky Sanctuary? After these songs I probably won't be doing anything else and leave the project to the rest of the people.

File Select is more or less finished, so here it is. From what I know, the noise doesn't have the correct sequence in the frames I added, and, as usual, there are volume control problems.

However, I fixed some things you left behind (like the flute sequence in frames 05-08), I added the missing pulses and triangle sequences and finished the rest of the song by adding the four last frames. If something needs to be changed, then go ahead, since I know there's still some more work to put on the song.

Since I did some work to the song, I added my name into the song name field and removed the WIP tag from the credits (it's sort of finished, you know?). Well, hope you like it.

No problem, we're all doing this with our free time so there's nothing wrong with just sitting there and watching if you want. =P

I probably won't be working on Hydrocity at all, so sure. And anyways, as for the Sonic 2 project, should it be in VRC7 or would you prefer 2A03-only, MMC5, N163, 5B, or something else?

Ah, nice. I like it. Well, I can't tell whether the noise is off or not. It sounds good to me.

Also, new release with additions to Hydrocity 1 (this is my last work on Hydrocity probably) and Endless Mine! Not done though. Also reverted LBZ patch to older version.

Looking forward to see Endless Mine finished, it's pretty good, although maybe could have more bass.

I'll see what I can do next. As I said before, might do Lava Reef 1.
