so, another COVER, of Apollo Justice's Ending Song, before i ruin something.
it's incomplete, the whole song has 5 minutes, so i'll be updating when i make some more, in order for you to check if there are any mistakes regardless effects or n163 collisions. i mean umm, THANKS if you check for mistakes. i'll be grateful.
I think you're the only one who uses that instrument, which I don't mind (why the hell would I have a problem with that?).
I think it's nice that people have their own signature instruments, or just that they have their own thing going on, that separates the rest of us. Well, OK, if you want to make something like Mega Man, Pokemon, Super Mario, Castlevania etc, of course you have to follow certain rules. Otherwise you probably won't get a positive reaction, which usually is very risky.
N163 and FDS (and to some extend, VRC7) are a little different because just the fact that you are willing to spend time with creating your own instruments is already something that people should spend more time with and even appreciate more. And so far you're the only one who uses those instruments and I think you shouldn't be scared of using them if they have worked for you.
That's also a reason why I've been interested to cover stuff by Stello Doussis because I'm interested to see if I can somehow improve my own style. You could say that I'm very much into sound design, and I honestly feel like I have yet to find my own style (I probably will never find it) but at least I'm willing to try improving my skills until I'm satisfied and feel comfortable when reusing my instruments (until it gets too old). Creating your own 2A03 and VRC6 instruments and/or combos are a lot harder, but at the same time, I feel like people aren't even trying to do something special with these sound chips (that's probably the main reason why I like Chibi-techs dubstep song). This doesn't apply to n00bs who are trying to learn the basics!
So my answer is this, I generally don't mind if people are reusing old instruments. I would probably be more annoyed if all of us decides to make the exact same sound design choices (like I'm starting to get a little sick of the VRC6 sawtooth + 2A03 Triangle combo because it feels like 90% of all VRC6 songs are like that).
Though, if YOU feel like your style (in this case your instruments) is getting a little old, try out something new for a while, of course it's easier said than done but still...
Hah, I feel like everything that I just said are contradicting, but I hope it makes sense.
