I'm so happy to have you back!
This sounds very nice and the VRC7 sounds better than many other songs I have heard, mainly because the sound is very clean. Only problem is that since the VRC7 is too loud it drowns the 2A03 channels. The percussions can barely be heard, but other than that this is excellent.
It would be nice to see that original you are planning.
The VRC7 is way too loud in this. The rule of thumb is, unless your patch is extremely quiet (which is only the case for default patch #4), you should never exceed volume level 0xC for VRC7 instruments. Any value above that drowns out the 2A03 and causes clipping.
Also, as a side note, 3FF is a special case for VRC7 channel where it plays the new note without retrigerring the ADSR. You can use that instead of guessing the Pxx values of notes you want to slide to or from.

I record (some) NSFs on hardware. Feel free to request a hardware render.
No. The percussion is fine. The VRC7 is WAY too loud though.

I strongly advise that you kick yourself in the butt and do it, because this is otherwise seriously good.
The highest value I'm going for is 0xD
I hope it's not a problem... :s
0xD might cause issues. Perhaps not clipping but you might have a hard time hearing the DPCM.
EDIT: A bit late, but here's how it sounds on hardware: download.
You might want to delete the redundant copies of the "Bass drum.dmc" samples, and map just one key to that sample. I spent a good 10 minutes working out why the module wouldn't export to NSF properly.

Yes, one of each works fine. That's how I got the NSF you're hearing in the recording to export.
