Well, there's been a long time since i've posted anything...

Reasons: PerĂș, no Internet and Internet cafĂ©'s that didn't have wiredless Internet...

[ I'm so happy. ]

Anyway, I tried something new.

VRC7.

Enjoy. c:

[God darn... I've missed you guys! D:]

EDIT: I'm also planning to post my first real (short) original soon. c:

I'm so happy to have you back!
This sounds very nice and the VRC7 sounds better than many other songs I have heard, mainly because the sound is very clean. Only problem is that since the VRC7 is too loud it drowns the 2A03 channels. The percussions can barely be heard, but other than that this is excellent.

It would be nice to see that original you are planning.

The VRC7 is way too loud in this. The rule of thumb is, unless your patch is extremely quiet (which is only the case for default patch #4), you should never exceed volume level 0xC for VRC7 instruments. Any value above that drowns out the 2A03 and causes clipping.

Also, as a side note, 3FF is a special case for VRC7 channel where it plays the new note without retrigerring the ADSR. You can use that instead of guessing the Pxx values of notes you want to slide to or from.

@Mr_Master

Thank you. <:]

It's good to hear from you again.

And yeah, I see the percussion is too low on volume...

I think the pulse 1 is okay on volume... I think... :s

No. The percussion is fine. The VRC7 is WAY too loud though.

Oh, thank you for the advice jrlepage. :o

I'll use that when I cover a new VRC7 cover. [If I ever do one...]

I won't change this cover's VRC7 Volume... [Beause I'm too lazy. :s]

EDIT: Or maybe...

I strongly advise that you kick yourself in the butt and do it, because this is otherwise seriously good.

I think you should balance everything in the VRC7 at just the precise level so the percussions are noticeable. Maybe a little less than 0xD.

0xD might cause issues. Perhaps not clipping but you might have a hard time hearing the DPCM.

EDIT: A bit late, but here's how it sounds on hardware: [url=http://www.mediafire.com/?gd9cwgrfgnrinld]download.

You might want to delete the redundant copies of the "Bass drum.dmc" samples, and map just one key to that sample. I spent a good 10 minutes working out why the module wouldn't export to NSF properly.

Oh my god...

You're right...

Yes, I will remove all the other Bass Drum samples...

Perhaps a shorter sample...

I will have one short and one long Bass Drum sample if that's okay.

Yes, one of each works fine. That's how I got the NSF you're hearing in the recording to export.

Okay, here it is.

Highest volume value for VRC7: 0xD

I agree, it sounds better now. c:
