This sort of stuff used to happen on occasion. One of the tracks in NES game Pictionary (scored by none other than Tim Follin himself) sounds very much like Queen's [i]Another One Bites the Dust[/i].

I'm usually the first one to say "hey, that sounds like this other song" but... I mean, it has the same chord progression but that's about it. It even clashes pretty bad when Maniac is faded into the NES track. It just sounds like a generic 4-5-6 progression (or 6-7-1 if you are so inclined) with arpeggios. But, who knows, maybe it was inspired by Maniac.

In either case, it is a really fun mash-up :D and it's always fun to sing a pop song over a NES tune, ^_^ I love when a vgm theme meshes with another song, haha.

PS: I heard one time that a 99 Red Balloons music clone is present on Lazy Jones for C64.
