Has anyone else had this problem? It seems like the last few days my cursor isn't moving to where I click it, and the playback visual sticks, while the audio keeps on going (meaning the notes stop moving, but the audio doesn't), and then it just pops back to where it's supposed to go.

Is there a way to fix this, or is it even a real issue?

I haven't had this problem. What OS are you using & what other programs are you running in the background?

When Famitracker lags, is there a CPU usage spike, or a usage spike of any other kind (lots of processes opening suddenly, harddrive I/O) ?

God damn it; DR0PB33T's right.

I just tried it with Skype open on my Windows 8 laptop. Patashu; I've noticed that CPU spike you're talking about.

I'd expect something like this from Chrome because, after all, I'd expect Chrome to call home to Google every now & than. But Skype? If it does call home, I'd wonder why the hell would it consume so many CPU cycles to the point that it'd lag FamiTracker.

And for the fun of it, I also tried Skype with Vegas Pro instead of FamiTracker; no lag there, so I'm not too sure...

I can run Vegas with pretty much anything EXCEPT live stream procaster, which is a cpu hog.

Maybe it's just the OS. I upgraded my laptop software, not the hardware, so I know the system isn't really BUILT to run it smoothly, but it gets the job done, smoothly for the most part.

60% of the time, it works all the time.

I've run Famitracker and Skype and Chrome and a bunch of other stuff all at once on a Windows 8 computer, I haven't seen the visual lag spike spoken of, so it's definitely not something inherent in the OS that can't be worked around (possibly by throwing more hardware at it)

I'm with Patashu on this.

My laptop's designed for Windows 8 (using an i7 CPU) & I have it lagging only when I'm using Skype with either FamiTracker or Vegas. Yet, I can use Vegas with FamiTracker without any issues. I can even burn DVDs & render videos while using FamiTracker without issues; in my case, the issue only starts when I run Skype, so it's most likely the way the hardware is handling the load.
