Hey guys! So recently I came across an old cover of Serious from Mother 3's OST and having recently ripped all of the audio files from the ROM, I was thinking I wanted to do a lot more music. If anyone here uses MIDIs to cover, I've got your back in that department. I was wondering if anyone would be on board to tackle every single battle song in Mother 3 with me. It's a daunting project for sure, but if done right it could be really awesome!
I've done Fate and Serious so far to start off. The project will use VRC6 and where there's not enough channels for that... Well, we'll just have to deal. This should be fun, even if we don't finish the project, I think.
Considering you can import .ftms into a single module, I'd say either way is fine; however, using the existing FTM (which I removed last night to update and forgot to do so, in my vast intelligence - that'll be up now) and instruments from it will keep things a bit more wieldly.
I should mention that one song I don't think I could possibly accomplish is Strong One (Masked Man). It sounds like it's in 29/16 time, which is absurd in and of itself, but due to assumed technical limitations it's not even written in that time; rather, tempo fuckery is used to accomplish the same. I've attached a ripped MIDI for someone to load into FL Studio or some such and get the tempo readings.
I'm fairly interested in doing this, so I've started on [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WjEF9H3LBA]Dangerous Guys. What I have isn't much, though.
Also, I made some little changes to spruce up your other two songs there.

That's sounding pretty good! I've already spruced up both Serious and Fate, but your cover of Dangerous Guys is coming along well. One thing I'm too lazy to fix myself you messed up, though - In the basslines, the A at row 1E should be a C. Other than that, it's sounding good so far! Let us know when it's done, yeah?
Oh wow, cool stuff so far guys (especially that Mecha Drago cover). I had started a cover of "Happy Town?" a bit back in VRC7, but never got around to finishing it past the first few frames -- maybe I'll end up contributing to this at some point.
While the project's meant to contain all the battle songs, I don't believe I ever said we couldn't do others as well. That'd be more than welcome here - as for myself, I may do a cover of Wess' Osohe Dance theme, perhaps. And/or the hot spring theme, which uses the same melody.
it needs a few tweaks but it makes a pretty good reference since all the notes are pretty much correct, and this version just has a hastily edited vibrato to compensate for a change to the new type (read: wrong values), so here's something I did like 4 years ago. hope it's helpful.
I'm not 100% sure yet, but I think I want to join this project...
Hmm... let's see... I think I wanna do Family Matters, 2nd Movement or Ode to Ancestors, 8th Movement

I'll try my hand at this later... don't expect much from me, though. =P
