hello,

ive been a famitracker user for quite some time now and i didnt see it addressed or asked about, so if it has already been asked somewhere else let me know and this thread can be closed/moved.

im wondering if (besides the help file) there is a more in-depth walkthrough/tutorial of the specific things that famitracker can do.

for example:

i have no idea what paste (mix) is or how it can be used. i also have no idea what "instrument mask" does, nor "volume mask", as well as "key repetition" and "change all".

i guess what im trying to get at is maybe a more specific "help" file stickied in the forums? maybe members on here who know the ins and outs of the examples i listed above and can explain briefly how they can be used in famitracker. a thread where everyone can contribute one big "help file".

I'm not sure where you saw "change all", but everything else you mentioned is more or less common to music trackers in general. That's why it's not covered in the help file...I guess someone could add these things to the Wiki (see top of page).

Mix paste is like "transparent" paste...blank rows are ignored. "Mask" means that that column is left blank when entering notes (I'm not sure if volume mask does anything though...possibly a bug). Key repeat means holding down the key inserts multiple notes.

I think most of these questions are covered by the help file, in this case the menu and control panel sections. If anything there is missing or unclear then please let me know so I can correct that.

cak: The volume mask option is working, but the volume values inserted is remembered from earlier inserts. So if you haven't entered any volume values earlier then nothing will appear there.
