Hey folks!

I took the feedback from my last upload and started something new. Right now I'm stuck, but I'd like to put it up here and see what you think. My plans are to still have some of the patch-work style of my last post, but with not as much... whiplash, I guess =P Thanks!

It is overall pretty good, although seems in general lack of volume envelopes. Sounds great so far.

Thanks! I've updated it and added in some dynamics... thinking about maybe ending it the way it is now, but I'm not sure-- it would be really short then.

I actually really enjoy just how simple of a tune this is. Not too fancy, no crazy effects. Just a nice, mellow, feel-good melody. Keep going dude =]

Thanks! I think it should be longer too. I've been having a little writer's block with added to the tune, but I think what I've added is... relatively inspired. Or at least I hope so, since I just spent, like, three hours working on it XD if anything I'll be able to work some more inspiration into it later.

Here's some questions for you. How long is your experience with famitracker? From which music and musicians you drawing your inspiration? Btw, i like your stuff and would like to see more, especially if you'll keep improving your skills.

Thanks! I started using Famitracker about three weeks ago, though I've been writing music for a long time. As for inspirations, my first modern chiptune exposure was Disasterpeace (FEZ, and Rise of the Obsidian Interstellar-- love that stuff), but I think I get a lot of my inspiration from stuff that I just like; Motion City Soundtrack, Rilo Kiley, Radiohead, Architecture in Helsinki. Dream Theater, definitely. Tori Amos too. And The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle corps. Maybe a little Brian Eno. It's hard to say for sure- I'm kind of a music mutt =) though I just realized, this tune in particular is a lot like "Do What You Want" by Guster.

How about you-- which musicians inspire you?

It's really cool to scroll through and see how this song has progressed!

I'm not sure if I'm phrasing this correctly, but I really like the way you voice your melodies and sort of organize fills in between phrases.

Anyway, I really like this, keep doing what you're doing, and holy cow this song is now stuck in my head!

Thanks! I'm flattered

Through much procrastination and distraction, I finished it, folks! Just three more frames added from the last update, but they're some of my best yet, I think.

Wow. Much longer, and still really pretty good! Great work, glad this project fully saw the light of day.

Wow, this is awesome.

A lot of people frown upon constant-volume instruments, but I think they suit this song rather well.

Usually, I don't like the constant volume, but this song really brings out the awesomeness of constant volume instruments

I like it very much. Has that clean and simple feel to it, but its little quirky jumps, licks, instrument names, and title make me feel good inside--I will definitely be able to listen to the song again and again later on.

This is the sort of thing I signed up on this site for. Finding funky songs of all sorts. And awesome, you just gave me a new list of bands to try out. Thanks, goldenshower and m4dek! <3333

cool track. my only comment was that the overall volume didn't change, which i thought took away from the climactic parts of the melody. but based on other comments some people liked that element of the song, so i guess to each his own. nice job.
