Here's another piece I wrote for the upcoming iOS game. The name is tentative since there's a few places where this could be used, but for the time being that's what I'm naming it. Anyway, as always, let me know if you hear anything wrong with the song so I can fix it before rendering it. Hope you enjoy!
The last unused frame is cool. Also, DPCM doesn't seem to stand out. It's flooded by the rest of the music and it's barely noticeable.
Now if I was here to speak seriously, the biggest problem with the song is that it's too awesome. We are simple humans, not gods or something, so we can't stand so much awesomeness in a song, or even a whole soundtrack. Eventually, our minds will be overblown and you will be there performing an evil laugh because you made us get permanently stunned with your music, which could be the greatest achievement in musical terms.
I'm glad that one of your supersongs is going to be a demo of FamiTracker, so people will know we have a music god among us simple humans. Congratulations man, and I hope you make more awesomeness like this. I really like your music.
EDIT: Okay, just to tell you how cool this is, I've had it in a loop for almost 15 minutes. You should be happy for making me get hypnotized by this!
I can't really critique something like this, it sounds almost perfect to me. The only thing that stands out is it sounds very,VERY similar to your last one, the ice level song. It's different enough that it probably wouldn't matter, but it just sounds very similar to that other piece that it is all I can think about.
But that set aside you've done another fabulous job Jayster, thanks, as always, for sharing your work!

God damn, this is so VGM, so Japanese, sooo gooooood. I'm no where near skilled enough to critique this but you can bet I will be studying it for a while.
I almost don't want to ask but... how long did this take you?
I second robro on that. Amazing work that i'll definitely be studying. It seems like you have a solid balance between the amount of instruments you use, and the amount of effects you use. Is this just your preferred way of writing music, or is it a necessary method to creating certain effects?
Holy crap... excellent use of effects & polyphony in this song; this song's one of the most technically advanced songs I've ever heard (I'd even say it rivals some songs from the Hellsing OVA's OST). It's like mixing Peter Frampton's talking guitar gig with some Sonic & Knuckes music while on LSD (for lack of a better description; it's great).
I'm definitely keeping this song in my collection.

I dunno, really. Unfortunately, I never have large chunks of time to compose, so I really write my music in 1-2 hour spurts and I started this one probably 2 or 3 weeks ago but I'm not sure how many hours it actually took me. It was definitely longer than, say, the DC entry I did, but then again it's not an arrangement. I consider the time it takes for me to compose to be my biggest weakness that I'm trying to improve on since in the real world, you have deadlines :p.

I make instruments for things that I know I'll be using a lot within a song, because writing effects can be very tedious. On the flip side, if I want to make an effect that I know I'll probably only use once or a couple times, I'll just write it in using a flat instrument and macros. This song probably isn't the best example of that though, heh.

Recently I'm actually pretty busy irl, and I can't compose much or visit the forum. But everytime YOU compose something, I've got a friend leaving me a message on Facebook that says "FUCKIN JAYSTER".
You've got a special place in our heart <3
I'd like to check the .ftm well and ask some technical questions, but I don't have the time ;__;
