Makes sense, thanks. so if I don't have my tempo at 150 should I change it to 150? And say at speed 4, 150 tempo, how many frames would I have to skip and at what Gxx?
I generally recommend that you keep your tempo at 150. As Mr_Master was explaining, if you keep the tempo at 150, the number of frames in a single line will equal the speed setting, which makes frame based effects easier to use, since you know exactly when the effect will take place.
Adjusting the tempo forces famitracker to randomly add or subtract frames and not only is the behavior inconsistent, it can make the song feel super janky. Once you hear it, you can't unhear it, and any song that adjusts the tempo instead of adjusting the speed to approximate the tempo will sound awful.
Proof that you didn't need the MMC5 expansion for your Treasure Trove Cove cover.
Also yeah, +1 to the whole "stick to 150 bpm" thing - it really does make life easier when dealing with effects like Gxx or Sxx, as well as timing instrument macros within your module.
Your covering of Treasure Trove Cove inspired me to make a 900 BPM VRC6 Version. I don't really recommend 900 BPM yet, but I spy some significant potential at the moment. I see great things from you in the future.
I never gave you a welcome, did I? Welcome.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I really tried to make this version sound as identicle to the actual version as I could. This includes the tempo, so is there anyway that I could add good echo while still having the tempo be the same-ish???
@jrlepage- yeah It's proof for the most part, but there was a point in the song that needed more than 5 channels(mainly for one note but still).
@PaulMannIV- Thanks! I like the 900 BPM version, it kind of has a wacky feel to it
This is an original song I made a while back. I touched up recently though with the stuff I know how to do now. I named it awesome back when I made it, and haven't really thought of a better name for it yet so here you go!
You know, at first I thought it was going to be really awesome, but although the rhythm was cool and it makes you move your feet, the actual melodies have no variation. Also, once again it lacks proper volume control, which makes it even more plain.
If you are going to submit old stuff, I'd recommend you rework them a bit to fit with your new techniques, like volume control. Also, please, PLEASE make good use of the expansions you are given! For MMC5, the most simple expansion in my opinion, you can fill your melodies with chords, and they'll sound much more dynamic than they are now. Instead of the background A-3 note which feels plain, you can add a E-3 note to fill the ambience a little.
Practice this, and you will be making better music at the end of the day.
Sorry, I thought I did rework some stuff into it.. . I'm still pretty new at this so I don't blame you for feeling that way. I'll try my best to get better at this so thanks
You're welcome. I was the worst when I started, so you aren't even close to my poor skills of those times. I remember that I had made a crappy original during my first tracking days and around two or three months ago I rearranged it from memory and got something a little better.
It's perfectly possible to rework old songs, but in order to do so, I personally recommend that you make the entire song again but based on the old version. You may want to try this once and see what you get from it.

Sounds like a theme from some pirate Asian Street Fighter port.
Not that I'm saying this is bad. But it just reminds me of those songs.

No there wasn't. I just copied everything from the MMC5 channels and pasted them in the 2A03 channels. Nothing was lose because you didn't enter anything in the 2A03 channels ever while the MMC5 was playing.
