would there every be consideration for a MAC version of famitracker? I'm not really sure how to program any Apple programs, but I'm just asking if it's in the realm of possibility.

I'm working on a [url=http://famitracker.com/forum/posts.php?id=4400&highlight=]Qt FamiTracker. Assuming you mean OSX Intel Mac it'll work, so I hear. I am anticipating having something releaseable within a few weeks. I had hoped to have it done already but life has forced me to push it back a few times. There's a couple of progress videos [of the Windows version since I only have Windows native] [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NMzuGlT0gk]on youtube.

I saw Virt composing using Famitracker despite being booted into Mac OS X today. He uses a program called Parallels ( [url=http://www.parallels.com/au/]http://www.parallels.com/au/ ) which is software that lets you run windows programs on Mac OS X as though they were native. Midi input worked, its audio streamed fine, etc. so it seems a good solution if you can afford it.

I use Famitracker on a Mac as well using Wineskin. It works pretty well, but not perfectly. For one, copying and pasting usually works when I boot it up for the first time after turning my computer on, but after that, the function doesn't work until I restart my computer. It's a huge pain in the ass, so I'm quite excited for this!

Yeah; using FamiTracker on a Mac is just as possible as using it on Linux.

The problem is that there's no native-working port of FamiTracker for Mac (at least not until cpow succeeds with his Qt port, which I sincerely hope is sooner rather than later).

As for the other obvious methods, Mac OS X has Bootcamp (to let Mac users reboot into a Windows OS,) Wineskin (a Mac port of WINE) & Parallels (a virtualization program that behaves the same way as VMware or VirtualBox, but is commercial/proprietary software). The sweet thing about Parallels is that it allows you to run individual Windows programs stand-alone, as if they were running natively under Mac OS X.

I can help out somewhat in terms of virtualization (I personally use VMware running Windows XP under Windows 8 ). I'll PM you with some info to get the ball rollin'.

When using FamiTracker with VMware is there a way that I can tune up performance? It is really jumpy, sometimes lagging before playing a note. I am running it via Windows 7 on VMware. Should I try to get an XP partition to run it on instead?

[url=http://www.delek.com.ar/deflemask]DefleMask is another alternative while waiting for a full FamiTracker OS X release. It is available for Mac, Windows and Linux.
