i am setting down the tools of the trade forever (well probably. i might come back to make an .ftm or two every now & again, who knows)
mostly because i have been feeling very inadequate about my chip music and that it's too much stress and i shouldn't be getting worked up about something so dumb. that is the reason i am going on an indefinite hiatus
nevertheless, enjoy this final .ftm (it's nothing particularly special, just the first atari ST song i had in my SNDH folder. pretty cool tho. 4-mat is pretty cool. atari ST music is pretty cool.)

You're a perfectly competent Famitracketeer, and I wish you'd quit berating yourself long enough to be more focused and objective, because I think you're already capable of whatever it is you're looking to do; You're just approaching it from the wrong angle.

Ares64, don't quit. Here's a secret - no one who ever picks up a creative hobby or trade is satisfied by their work. Not ever, it just doesn't happen. It doesn't mean you're doing it wrong - it's actually a really good sign, it means that you want to do much better. And you should let yourself do better! Any kind of doodling or dabbling at all is practice and helping you improve. You should derive pleasure from having others listen to and enjoy your works, because you'll always be your harshest personal critic. As for me, I definitely think you are capable of creating some awesome stuff if you put your mind to it. Ignore the critic in your head, focus on the experimentation and the now. Amazing chiptune beep boop works will come to you if you let yourself play around.
